May & September Country Breaks
If you are considering coming along to enjoy some time with us at the May Country Break (19th—23rd May) and/or the September Country Break (15th—19th )September, give Maggie a call to discuss. May and September are very often the most pleasing months as far as the reliability of English weather is concerned and our grounds always look a picture, whatever time of year, thanks to Will, the Groundsman. |

Making exhibitions of ourselves
We will be exhibiting once again at the Christian Resources Exhibition at Sandown Park from 13th – 16th May this year. If you go along you will meet Jasmine, our Bookings Manager, at the stand, but also Michael and Maggie and various members of our Trustees visit. We will be occupying Stand P52 in the Pavilion and we are always glad to see a friendly face, so join us for a cup of coffee and a home made biscuit! |

Hidden talents
After our usual delicious Staff Christmas Lunch held in the Baronial Hall, it was time for staff to volunteer to “perform” something in the way of light entertainment. There followed a poem or two, a short amusing skit with staff in costume, a couple of beautiful Hungarian songs, bravely sung by Gabi, one of the volunteers and then, out of the blue, up stood quiet, unassuming Tamas and with a deep brown voice entranced us all with a traditional Russian song. Who would have guessed such talent was hidden and undiscovered amidst our staff! |

A serious note
We recently hosted a Public Inquiry on behalf of Wealden District Council on the contentious subject of local housing plans. We would like to think that the peaceful atmosphere and the amiability and calmness of our staff contributed to what could have been a quite fraught event. Our discretion prohibits us divulging any further details! |
